Area code 609 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the state of New Jersey. The area code was created in 1958 as one of the original codes established for New Jersey. It covers the southeastern part of the state, including cities such as Camden, Trenton, Atlantic City, and Princeton.
